Amadeus releases Q2 update on NDC

It has been an upbeat quarter two for Amadeus NDC as they signed more collaborations for the company with airlines and travel services.

In a recent update on the key milestones of Amadeus’ NDC journey in 2021, Mark Ridley, Head of Airline Distribution Solutions and NDC [X] program at Amadeus said “Our recent collaboration with Qatar Airways for both IT partnership and NDC distribution; providing content via NDC within the Amadeus Travel  Platform for Kenyan Airways, with LOT Polish Airlines and retailing via NDC with United Airlines – are all testament to the fact that the momentum is gaining and it is really coming to scale now.”

Amadeus currently have Live content from 5 airlines and aim to take this number to 11 by the end of 2021.

“The pandemic has truly accelerated interest in NDC rather than let it ebb away,” he added.

“Today we have over 2000 travel agents that are NDC enabled through Amadeus across 40 different markets from Asia, Europe, Americas, the Middle East and Africa.”

On the solution side, the company spent a lot of time getting new content, normalizing it so that its easy to consume and helping the servicing, which is crucial to travel services.

“There is no better time than today to be NDC ready. It is time to lock all those new features and capabilities and possibilities that NDC can bring. It is time to brace NDC and accelerate recovery.”
