Holiday Inn & Suites Dubai to focus on sustainability

The new Holiday Inn & Suites, the latest social and business hub located at Dubai Science Park, aims to offer a sustainable stay with a range of eco-friendly amenities for travelers looking to minimize their carbon footprint. The Holiday Inn & Suites Dubai Science Park aims to be the center of this thriving community which lies at the heart of the city’s medical, wellness, pharma and technology sectors, giving guests a slate of modern rooms and amenities so they can meet, relax and socialize.

Digital amenities in its guestrooms, restaurants inspired by local farmers, a no-single use plastic policy, plantable pens and notebooks initiative, and even an on-site water bottling plant are just a few of the ways Holiday Inn & Suites Dubai Science Park is moving IHG Hotels & Suites vision to sustainability forward.

The rooms & suites
The guest’s green journey begins in their hotel room, with all 324 guestrooms, suites and one-bedroom apartments integrating digital technology such as a Digital TouchPad panel and a Bluetooth speaker with wireless charging for less waste and better energy efficiency. High-end one-bedroom suites will also be equipped with a built-in kitchenette, cookware and flatware, washer and dryer – facilities that are quintessential to long-staying guests and aimed to minimize the use of single-use plastic.

Restaurants & bars
The journey continues in the hotel’s exciting food & beverage line-up. Kitchen 25, located at the hotel’s ground floor lobby, offers a diverse and healthy breakfast buffet as well as all-day dining choices from a menu crafted by chefs from all corners of the globe. Refined yet homey, this restaurant breaks the norm by offering exceptional family friendly experiences and themed dinners – from Family Fun Fridays to Kids’ Sunday brunch, this is the perfect place to gather, whether formal or informal, business or family.

Meanwhile, lobby lounge Café Verde is a gourmet deli & café. Verde, which means green, also brings to life the hotel’s sustainability concept as it serves coffee and healthy grab & go snacks in eco-friendly packaging. Café Verde is sure to attract coffee connoisseurs, lovers of delicious and healthy food and people with a sweet tooth as its menu of fresh and delicious pastries, speciality chocolates, pralines, cakes and eclairs are the show and centre piece of Café Verde.

Accompanied by a great selection of healthy, sustainable food, this is a place that invites guests to sit down and spend the day working and networking in its smart communal spaces – all in a relaxed yet refined atmosphere, perfect for generating ideas.

Rounding up this exceptional line up of dining options is McGettigan’s, the famous Irish pub, which is set to open in March 2023. Buckle up for live music and entertainment, a variety of screens for guests to enjoy their favourite games and authentic Irish food and beverages. McGettigan’s is sure to be new community hotspot for friends and families to experience unrivalled Irish hospitality while watching the hottest sports games and enjoying the latest musical acts.

Meetings & events
The hotel is also offering seven ultra-modern collapsible events and conference spaces and an extensive upper mid-scale ballroom. Aptly named after the world’s leading scientists, each space is equipped with modern technology with a range of sizes to accommodate gatherings of all sizes.

Conference rooms Einstein, Newton and Ibn Hayan can accommodate a range of 40 to 60 guests, while the upper scale Arjan ballroom, can accommodate 330 guests. All together, these spaces can accommodate over 440 guests. For recreation, the hotel will have a fully equipped fitness centre, an outdoor pool and a sizeable activity space.

IHG Hotels & Resorts, one of the world’s leading hotel companies, is fully committed to supporting innovative environmental growth through “Green Engage” now referred to as “Energy Efficiency”, a long-term strategy built upon driving sustainability actions across all different departments in its hotels worldwide.

This initiative is in line with “Journey to Tomorrow”, a commitment by the multinational hospitality company to deliver a more sustainable hotel business through building positive impact in local communities, building a diverse culture, reducing energy use, cutting waste and conserving water. This is IHG Hotels & Resorts’ response to helping achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.

With this vision in mind, the team behind the Holiday Inn & Suites Dubai Science Park has integrated products and implemented energy and water saving initiatives that not only decrease costs, but also help save natural resources.

The water bottling plant built inside the hotel reduces the consumption of at least 1,500 plastic bottles a day by producing glass bottled water instead. The bottling plant has a 3,400-liter capacity, generating 80 litres per hour of cold still water, ambient still water, and sparkling water.

The property has announced a special pre-opening offer with 25 per cent discount on the best available rates across all room categories (Standard Rooms, Premium Rooms, Junior Suites and One Bedroom Apartments).
