Finnair, Finland’s flag carrier, has updated its new spring menu for 2025, allowing travellers to experience a renewed offering of fresh Nordic cuisine, as the season begins to change.
In a nod to Finnair’s network, the new menu includes traditional fresh Nordic flavours, combined with local flavours from Finnair destinations, taking customers on a culinary journey around the world. The new spring menu is available now, and will be until 20 May on selected routes.
Business Class Offerings
Ready to be served, the new menu options include beef with porcini mushroom risotto, pumpkin, broccoli, corn and black garlic sauce; the fish option is smoked rainbow trout with potato purée, oven-baked root vegetables, broccolini, cabbage and dill cream sauce.
Alongside the beef and fish options, there is always a third, route-specific option to allow travellers’ journeys to begin onboard Finnair, while customers with special dietary requirements, can choose from a range of pre-selected meals.
For those with a sweet tooth, dessert options include a brownie with salted caramel and nuts served with raspberry sauce, or Finnair’s blueberry cake. The third option is a cheese selection that includes Peltola’s blue cheese and local Herkkujuustola’s Mouhitaler with fig compote.
Sami Oksava, Finnair Kitchen Development Chef, said: “Seasonal ingredients and flavours have inspired the late-winter and spring menu. These dishes were chosen to reflect the changing seasons and we expect them to be very popular with customers seeking a taste of warmer weather. The new menus reflect the destination, allowing customers to begin their culinary journey while onboard Finnair.”
In Business Class on long-haul flights, Finnair also offers small movie treats and snacks throughout the flight. The selection includes, for example, Pågen cinnamon buns, Fazer Domino biscuits, as well as cold-smoked reindeer and hummus sandwiches made in the Finnair Kitchen.
Premium Economy Offerings
Customers flying in Premium Economy can enjoy a choice of two main courses in this spring menu, with bespoke options inspired by the flight’s destinations. Highlights include beef stew, creamy polenta and green garden vegetables with red wine sauce; or grilled chicken breast with pea puree, carrots and butter milk sauce.
Before landing, a second light meal or a snack is served in the Premium Economy cabin. In addition to meals, customers can enjoy a complimentary selection of hot and cold drinks, throughout the flight.
Economy Class Offerings
Finally, in Economy Class on long-haul flights, customers can enjoy a selection of firm favourites, with customers served a hot meal with non-alcoholic drinks and a complimentary glass of wine or beer.
The main course varies depending on the destination. On flights to Delhi, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Osaka, Shanghai, Seoul and Singapore, customers can choose from two main courses, on flights to other destinations there is one menu. On longer flights, Finnair also serves a light meal or snack just before landing.
Finnair also recently updated its onboard menu, with new snacks and drinks available to purchase. These include the Barebells protein bar, Froosh smoothie, and salami snack. The airline has also added more non-alcoholic drinks to the onboard sale selection, such as non-alcoholic beer and Nocco energy drinks.
As part of Finnair’s commitment to customer experience, the airline will also continue to offer its meal pre-ordering service, recently expanded to include short-haul Business Class flights, with customers able to pre-select their preferred dish up to 24 hours before they board.
Customers travelling with Finnair will also continue to enjoy the airline’s iconic blueberry juice free of charge on all flights*, irrespective of their class of travel.
