Dubai College of Tourism teams up with Coursera to boost hospitality education

Dubai College of Tourism (DCT), part of Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, and a leader in providing innovative education and training in the tourism industry, has partnered with Coursera, a leading online learning platform, to bring its world-class hospitality and tourism courses to Coursera’s 155 million learners worldwide.

Through this collaboration, DCT will introduce 16 new courses focused on essential skills in the tourism and hospitality sectors, including hospitality marketing, budgeting and events, revenue management, inventory management, front office operations, housekeeping, and many more.

The global hospitality sector is expected to grow to $4.99 trillion in 2024, with a compound annual growth rate of 6.8 percent. In the GCC, the industry is set to grow at a CAGR of 7.5 percent between 2023 and 2028, reflecting the region’s continued investment in the sector. With this growth comes a rising demand for skilled professionals, underscoring the need for targeted education. This partnership with Coursera helps address the talent gap in the industry and supports efforts to equip learners across the region and beyond with the skills needed to thrive in one of the world’s fastest-growing industries.
