StayAltered, the world’s first community—powered hospitality platform for sustainable travelers

Independent hoteliers unite to launch StayAltered, the world’s first community-powered hospitality platform for sustainable travelers. Over 80 independent hoteliers join forces with a founding network of contributors and partners to develop new booking, rewards, and sustainability features for StayAltered.

StayAltered unveiled the latest version for its community-powered hospitality platform, with new booking and rewards features, partner services, and member benefits for independent hoteliers and sustainable travelers. Combining the power of a global hospitality brand with the reach of a travel booking website, StayAltered helps sustainable travelers easily find, instantly book, and earn rewards with independent hoteliers.

“StayAltered champions independent hoteliers, who represent over two-thirds of the global hospitality industry,” said Evan Tzeng, founder of StayAltered and sustainable travel expert. “When locally-operated and sustainably-managed, their accommodations become sociocultural anchors and economic drivers for communities to thrive and flourish. These new features will make it rewarding for travelers to book places to StayAltered and ensure the $11 trillion they spend annually also rewards the people who live in the places we love to visit.”

“StayAltered perfectly aligns with our vision of promoting sustainability and inclusivity in tourism. We believe in harnessing collective power to make tourism more purposeful and impactful. StayAltered provides us a platform to realize this vision collaboratively,” explained Arunavh Dam, StayAltered Host and co-founder of Muhaan Collective, a social enterprise in India developing experiential tourism and hospitality models with rural communities.

Booking and rewards features are just a few of many new benefits rolling out in the coming weeks. A founding network of contributors and partners – including COAX Software in Ukraine, GuestRevu in the United Kingdom, and Weeva in South Africa – have rallied together to help independent hoteliers gain better help, get better guests with better bookings, and grow better businesses.

“StayAltered is one of the most exciting projects we have been involved in recently,” said Chris Alexandre, founder and CEO of GuestRevu. “Hosts will be able to use our award-winning reputation management tools to keep a closer eye on their guest feedback, and guests can be assured that StayAltered Hosts deliver excellent travel experiences.” In the coming months, StayAltered will announce enhanced membership benefits for StayAltered Guests with the launch of Special Guests and Super Guests plans, as well as more cooperative solutions and partner services for StayAltered Hosts.
