Hyatt announces the world’s first Fila-branded hotel

Hyatt has unveiled plans to partner with Anta Group to open the world’s first Fila-branded hotel. The partnership with the global sport brand will see the forthcoming Fila House Shanghai joining the JDV by Hyatt portfolio.

The hotel will form part of Anta Group’s new Shanghai headquarters in the city’s West Hongqiao Business District, and is expected to open in 2024.

Hyatt said that the complex would be housed across five separate buildings comprising the headquarter office, shops and food and beverage outlets, and “is envisioned to be a destination for sports retail as well as a space to showcase the latest trends in sports apparel”.

Hyatt added JDV to its portfolio when it acquired Two Roads Hospitality in 2018, and the brand currently counts around 20 hotels across North America, China and Europe, including three properties in Sweden which were added in 2021.

The development of Fila House Shanghai marks the first time Fila China is extending its brand into the lifestyle hotel space. Embracing the brand’s namesake (joie de vivre), the JdV by Hyatt brand offers a collection of independent properties that are true reflections of the urban neighborhoods they call home, inviting guests and locals alike to connect and celebrate the joy of life while unwinding in spaces designed with distinctive personality.

The group also recently announced plans for the first Hello Kitty-branded hotel, which is set to open in 2025 as part of the Sanya Hello Kitty Resort, and which will also be marketed under Hyatt’s JDV brand.
