Etihad Airways and Abu Dhabi International Airport have geared up resources and are ready to welcome 2.7 million network passengers over the summer months, following a surge in demand for global travel. Over 1.4 million passengers will depart from Abu Dhabi International Airport, including 330,000 local joiners, with more than 1100 weekly network-wide departures.

With summer holidays upon us and to manage the increase in passenger numbers, Etihad has bolstered operations both locally and across our global network to ensure guests enjoy a seamless airport and flight experience.”
Etihad A350 to fly to New York and Chicago
Lighter, greener, smarter and quieter than any other generation Airbus aircraft, Etihad’s new A350 will be making its inaugural flight to New York on June 30, 2022. All Etihad flights servicing New York and Chicago O’Hare International Airport will be operated by the Abu Dhabi airline’s flagship A350.
Etihad Guests traveling to the USA will have access to Etihad’s pre-clearance in Abu Dhabi, the only USCBP facility in the Middle East. This allows passengers to pass all USA immigration and customs requirements in Abu Dhabi, avoiding immigration and queues on arrival in the USA.
The A350 will almost double premium capacity on our New York and Chicago routes to 44 seats in Business, which provides a luxurious experience comparable to First Class on other international airlines. The highly efficient fuel consumption and CO2 savings enables Etihad to support its goals to reduce carbon emissions and deliver an unmatched flight experience for guests.
Besides its fuel-efficiency and noise-reduction the A350 also uses advanced materials that make it 1kg lighter per seat. The A350 is also 50 per cent quieter than any other Airbus aircraft and powered by Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines, the A350s produce 25 per cent less fuel burn and CO2 emissions.
