Delta will beef up its Hawaii offerings next winter with new routes from Atlanta, Detroit and New York JFK with three daily long-haul routes .
From its Atlanta hub, Delta will fly daily to Maui beginning November 19, boosting its existing Atlanta-Honolulu service. Delta will also begin daily Detroit-Honolulu service. Delta is slated to be the lone carrier on both the Atlanta-Maui and Detroit-Honolulu routes. Honolulu will be Delta’s lone route from its Detroit hub.
On December 17 Delta will begin daily nonstop New York JFK-Honolulu service, competing against Hawaiian Airlines.
The newly planned routes will take Delta’s total peak day Hawaii service next winter to 18 daily non-stops to four destinations from seven mainland cities. In addition, Delta flies daily to Honolulu from Tokyo Haneda.
Delta last operated flights to Honolulu from Detroit in February 2020 and from New York-JFK in January 2020. Though all three flights are resumptions, none were previously operated daily, according to Cirium timetable.
“We’re guaranteeing more choice for our customers this winter, alongside Delta’s award-winning hospitality and industry-leading reliability,” said Joe Esposito, Delta’s senior vice president of network planning.
Delta will deploy a 226-seat Boeing 767-300ER on all three routes, which is outfitted with 26 Delta One pods, 35 Comfort+ extra-legroom seats and 165 standard coach ones. Each seat features a seat-back entertainment screen and USB-A port, while those in the forward two cabins will also enjoy access to a universal power outlet.
