ITB 360° with wide-ranging multichannel content

A 360-degree look at the global travel industry – taking this as its slogan, the World’s Leading Travel Trade Show is offering year-round industry updates for the global travel community on itb.com.

A regular newsletter now enhances the numerous podcasts, video clips and expert articles. The travel community can register online on itb.com. Key topics are already lined up for the coming months. They include China, a look ahead to travel this summer, Artificial Intelligence and the Indian and Pan-Asian travel market.

Last summer ITB Berlin presented its 365-day multichannel concept, aimed at providing more and more valuable content between now and when ITB Berlin takes place from 4 to 6 March 2025, and which concentrates information from all four trade shows in Berlin, Shanghai, Mumbai and Singapore. One of its mainstays is News & Insights, previously part of the Press section and now under the ITB 360° heading of itb.com, which contains lots of fascinating interviews, expert articles, reports and information on surveys or destinations’ promotion campaigns.

Just as informative is the ITB Travel Hero Podcast hosted by industry expert Charlotte Lamp-Davies (founder of A Bright Approach), where prominent figures and visionary minds from the travel community share their insights and views.

Every Thursday, under #ThrowbackThursday, ITB Berlin posts a brief video recapping the ITB Berlin Convention and promotes the corresponding session on YouTube.

Rounding off the ITB 360° content on itb.com is information on the emergent industry newcomers featured on the ITB Innovators, which were launched in 2023. A forward-looking platform, the ITB Innovators bring together innovative products and services from companies exhibiting at the World’s Leading Travel Trade Show. Last but not least, the latest survey results of the new Global Travel Buyer Index (GTBI) will soon be presented with a focus on “How the season is going”. Together with Fried & Partner, a leading management consultancy based in Munich, ITB Berlin interviewed 1,000 handpicked senior buyers from the exclusive ITB Buyers Circle about their views and outlook on the mood in the industry at home and abroad.

In addition to the GTBI, ITB Berlin is also launching the new “ITB Travel & Tourism Radar” survey, inviting the entire community to participate. The current survey examines market segments, participant positions, company size and headquarters location, current business conditions, future business developments and investment plans, as well as areas with increased investment and competitive situations. A special focus is on the importance of sustainability, including topics such as climate protection and resource management, and the main goals of companies, such as compliance and reputation improvement. The results will be presented, among others, at the ITB Berlin Convention 2025.

Individual topic headings

The ITB 360° offering on itb.com always dedicates itself to a selected main theme each month. June kicks off with the theme: Outlook on the Summer Travel Season. Just last week, ITB China, which took place successfully in Shanghai from May 27th to 29th, came to an end. Already this year, it is expected that nearly as many Chinese travelers will go abroad as before the pandemic. Lydia Li, Director of ITB China, presents the results of the current ITB China Travel Trends Report in a podcast episode, titled, China Travel Market Insights, while an exclusive expert interview focuses solely on the Chinese travel platform Fliggy, which is part of the renowned Alibaba Group. Additionally, the ITB 360° community can look forward to another expert discussion with Charuta Fadnis, SV President, Research & Product Strategy at Phocuswright, on the outlook for the summer travel season in June.

In July, the focus shifts to the LGBTQ+ community and the theme of diversity, before August delves into the industry status regarding Artificial Intelligence. Finally, in September, ITB plans to focus on the Indian and pan-Asian travel market, as the ITB shows in Mumbai (ITB India from September 11th to 13th) and Singapore (ITB Asia from October 23rd to 25th) take place in late summer and autumn.
