Spain-based travel tech company Amadeus has announced it will partner with Rappi, a Latin American “super app” that combines multiple services into one customer-facing application for more than 30 million users spanning in more than 350 cities and nine countries.
Currently, Rappi’s 30+ million active users can search, book and manage their travel directly on RappiTravel. While leveraging the search and automation capabilities of the Amadeus Travel Platform, Rappi and Amadeus are innovating together to further develop the travel vertical, and add more features and services to continue to scale the offering. Amadeus and Rappi share a vision of frictionless travel fed by use of hyper contextualized data, which is a cornerstone of the companies’ partnership and the value proposition for Rappi users.
Guido Becher, global head of Rappi Travel, says the partnership “will allow us to transform people’s travel experience.”
Eduardo Schutte, senior vice president, online, Americas at Amadeus, calls Rappi an elite app “that has built a huge following.”
“We are extremely happy to embark on this partnership with Rappi Travel at a time when more and more people are booking their trips entirely on their mobile devices,” Schutte continues. “This agreement sets the foundation for many exciting developments ahead between our companies.”
