Radisson Hotel Group has announced the signing of the first Radisson RED hotel in the prestigious Diriyah project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This signing debuts Radisson Hotel Group’s fifth brand in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; a fantastic addition to the current portfolio bringing the Group’s footprint to 45 hotels in operation and under development in the country.
Radisson RED is an upscale, lifestyle brand that presents a playful twist on the conventional. The brand injects new life into hospitality through informal services where anything goes, a social scene that is waiting to be shared and stylish public spaces with standout design to inspire guests. Radisson RED stands for design that fits the needs of guests by giving them endless opportunities to tune in and out, switching effortlessly between business and pleasure.
Scheduled to open in 2026, Radisson RED Diriyah will be situated on the prime shopping and cultural avenue of Diriyah, drawing on the region’s rich past. The Najdi-inspired architecture mirrors 300 years of history as DGDA works to transforms into one of the region’s most prominent heritage, culture and lifestyle destinations.
The destination is adjacent to modern-day Riyadh, located just to the northwest of the capital and is easily accessible from King Khalid International Airport (RUH) (only 25 minutes’ drive away). The hotel is also located in close proximity to the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) as well as the main districts of the capital.
The newly built hotel will include 175 contemporary designed guest rooms, 9 suites, a coffee and juice bar, all-day dining restaurant, along with social meeting spaces in bold designs that blend modern with traditional. Radisson RED Diriyah will also offer a well-equipped fitness centre, meeting, and events facilities as well as a rooftop pool.
Elie Milky, Vice President Business Development, Middle East, Radisson Hotel Group, said: “This is our first hotel deal with the Diriyah Gate Development Authority, and we could not be prouder nor have chosen a better location, development, and partnership to kick off this relationship. We thank our new partners for their trust as we continuously work towards contributing to the Kingdom’s ambitious Vision 2030. Diriyah offers a blend of history and modernity, heritage and design, which makes our Radisson RED lifestyle real estate offering an ideal fit.
“We continue to focus on Saudi Arabia as our main market in the region as we open an office in the capital, expand our resources across departments, and grow our portfolio across the Kingdom.”
Jerry Inzerillo, Group Chief Executive Officer, DGDA, said: “The new Radisson RED hotel will offer warm and authentic experiences in the birthplace of the Kingdom, Diriyah. It is a very exciting addition to the hospitality offering we are curating as we look to again become one of the greatest gathering places in the world.
“Our goal is to bring visitors from around the Kingdom and the world to come to experience the unique heritage, culture and lifestyle offerings we are developing, and partnerships with global brands such as Radisson offering world-class hospitality to travelers is how we will achieve this goal.”
The 300-year-old site of Diriyah is located adjacent to the capital city of Riyadh, just 15 minutes north-west of downtown Riyadh. It is recognized as a symbolic center of inspiration for the generations of leaders that have led the Kingdom since the foundation of the First Saudi State in 1727. The acclaimed Diriyah project, part of the Vision 2030, will pay ode to Saudi Arabia’s rich history, while catering to leisure and business travelers from across the globe.
