Marriott launches “Beyond Ordinary” Maldives packages, with curated experiences

Marriott has created a new suite package offering called “Beyond Ordinary”, involving a luxury getaway at one of three of its seven properties in the Maldives, with specially-curated resort experiences, and the opportunity to earn 20,000 Marriott Bonvoy points.

The “Beyond Ordinary” package is centered around journeys of discovery and the chance to experience the epitome of opulence at either the The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands, The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort, or the JW Marriott Maldives Resort & Spa. Ideal for families or a group of friends traveling together, the package can be explored with a variety of suite and multi-bedroom collections. The packages include a four-night stay at any of these three resorts, with each one offering a slightly different curated offering. Each package comes with the 20,000 bonus Bonvoy points, and must be booked by August 17, 2024, valid for stays until 30 June, 2025.

The Ritz-Carlton Maldives, Fari Islands, is focused on giving its guests the chance to go beyond the ordinary. Here, guests are welcomed with a traditional Sangu shell blowing upon arrival – an ancient Maldivian tradition. Also harking back to Maldivian history, the dedicated island butler service – named “Aris Meeha”, after the privileged role of the “closest person” right hand held in bygone Maldivian royal households – harks back to royal court traditions. And as the sun sets each day, guests can enjoy one of the brand’s signature Defining Moments with a traditional Bodu Beru drum performance, and a flaming ceremony marking the transition from day to night.

At this resort, the ‘Beyond Ordinary’ package offers inclusions for two adults and two children, including half-board dining at select restaurants, a bespoke wellness experience with a family aerial yoga session, a private Maldivian cooking class, and a ‘Cities Under The Sea’ snorkelling trip guided by Jean-Michel Cousteau’s Ambassadors of the Environment Program Naturalists. Families can choose from the option of a Two Bedroom Water or Beach Pool Villa, which each feature separate living and dining areas with kitchenettes, two full bathrooms, and infinity pools with integrated sundecks. Alternatively, for a truly extravagant getaway, guests can elevate their stay at The Ritz-Carlton Estate, a private beach residence offering exclusive cove access and stunning sunset views.

The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort, is focused on inviting guests to escape to their very own paradise. The property’s summer package includes full-board dining, a private cooking class, personalized wellness screening, exclusive access to the Blue Hole Pool for hydrotherapy at the award-winning Iridium Spa, family movie nights under the stars, an educational dolphin exploration, a professional family photography session, complimentary creative arts and eco-adventure activities for kids, and a variety of other complimentary services for guests. Guests can also take advantage of the brand’s famous St. Regis Butler Service through a dedicated St. Regis Butler that is available to curate tailored experiences for them.

In terms of accommodation, its premium two to three-bedroom villas offer an eco-conscious sanctuary overlooking the island’s turquoise waters. Each villa features private pools, panoramic beach views, state-of-the-art entertainment and a variety of luxurious amenities. The two-bedroom Knickerbocker and Cesar Balsa villas, found on the white sand beaches, provide seclusion amidst natural island surroundings. Meanwhile, the beachfront three-bedroom Caroline Astor Estate boasts a 67 square metre private pool and floor-to-ceiling glass doors, with a terrace adjoining the living room. Also at this property is the John Jacob Astor Estate, one of the Maldives’ largest overwater villas that can accommodate up to 10 guests with a private gym, cinema room, spa suites, infinity pool, and expansive outdoor terrace.

The JW Marriott Maldives Resort & Spa, which is located at the northern Shaviyani Atoll, is a family-friendly escape that focuses on curating moments to treasure. For its summer packages, families can choose from a variety of half-board culinary options including international cuisine at Aailaa for all-day dining, alfresco Italian dining by the pool at Fiamma, or Thai treetop dining at Kaashi. Children can enjoy over 100 activities at FAMiLY by JW™ Little Griffins Kids Club, which is one of the biggest kids clubs in the Maldives. The package also includes a 50-minute Ultimate Aromatherapy signature treatment at the award-winning Spa by JW for two, as well as a unique destination dining experience around a sunken outdoor Tandoor & Tawa at RIHA, which can be enjoyed once during the stay. For something more indulgent, there is also the option to add in a private eight-course menu that blends Indian and Western flavours from Kashmir to Madurai, Goa, Rajasthan, and Bengal.

For accommodation, the resort’s duplex villas feature private pools, expansive decks, uninterrupted ocean views, and access to the private ‘Thakuru’ butler service. Positioned as a multigenerational luxury family retreat, the resort boasts Two-Bedroom Duplex Beach Pool Villas spanning 285 square metres each, which can fit a family of five and are listed among the Maldives’ most spacious accommodations. For smaller families, the 274 square metre Duplex Overwater Pool Villas offer direct access into the lagoon.
