Marriott in deal to open Autograph Collection Hotel in Turkey

Marriott International has signed an agreement with DYC Turizm Isletmecilik TIC A.S. to open an Autograph Collection Hotel in Uludag, Turkiye. Expected to open in Q4 2024, the hotel resort will be situated in the Uludag Ski Centre within the Uludag Mountain region.

Nestled in the heart of Turkiye’s Bursa province, Uludag Mountain is a year-round natural wonder. The well-established high-end ski destination’s snow-covered slopes attract winter sports enthusiasts, while its lush greenery offers the ideal destination for summer hikers and mountain bikers.

Uludag also boasts a rich cultural experience, with nearby villages showcasing traditional Turkish cuisine and crafts.  When the resort opens in 2024, guests will be able to travel to the property by a 20-minute cable car ride or a 45-minute drive from Bursa.

Jerome Briet, Chief Development Officer, Europe Middle East & Africa, Marriott International said: “We are thrilled to work with DYC Turizm Isletmecilik TIC A.S. to introduce Autograph Collection Hotels to a captivating destination for global travellers to discover in Turkiye.

“With its distinct sense of locality, Uludag is a perfect fit for the brand which features carefully selected hotels that promote originality. The signing is also in line with Marriott International’s commitment to expand its portfolio in Turkiye and diversify the travel experiences it offers its guests in the country.”

Featuring ski-in and ski-out access, the Autograph Collection Hotel is anticipated to offer unobstructed views over the ski slopes of the Uludag Mountain.

Plans for the hotel comprise five chalet-style buildings which will feature 92 rooms, including two and three-bedroom suites.

The resort is expected to feature a variety of recreational and entertainment offerings including multiple dining venues, a spa and wellness centre, swimming pool, business centre, meeting facilities, retail space and a kids club.

Cetin Ceylan, Chairman, DYC Turizm said: “In the recent past, we have successfully established various businesses in Bursa and nationally. We aim to steer our venture in harmony with our core principles and vision, drawing inspiration from the achievements of a globally renowned and institutionalized brand.

“Uludag distinguishes itself not only with winter tourism but also with its potential to offer health, gastronomy, art, and other diverse travel experiences across every season. Our primary objective with Marriott International and the Autograph Collection brand is to curate a destination that offers distinctive travel experiences in the region extending beyond mountain tourism.”

Autograph Collection’s portfolio currently features over 290 hotels globally. Each hotel is a product of passion and a personal realisation of its individual founder’s vision, making each hotel singular and unique. Hand-selected for their inherent craft, Autograph Collection Hotels offer rich immersive moments that leave a lasting imprint.
