IHG Hotels & Resorts’ Portuguese portfolio prospers with dual luxury and lifestyle signing

IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG), one of the world’s leading hotel companies, announces the signing of a 309-dual-branded hotel in the popular tourist destination of Cascais, Portugal. Alongside partners Grupo Onyria, Onyria Marinha Cascais, Vignette Collection and Kimpton Quinta da Marinha Cascais are expected to open between this and next year.

IHG’s leading luxury and lifestyle collection continues to grow at pace and is now the second largest in the world. Onyria Marinha Cascais, Vignette Collection and Kimpton Quinta da Marinha Cascais add to Portugal’s six open and eight pipeline hotels, including Kimpton Atlântico Algarve and Kimpton Lisbon, as well as Convent Square Lisbon, Vignette Collection and Casa da Companhia Hotel & Spa, Vignette Collection. Both properties also join the recently signed Six Senses Comporta which is expected to open in 2028, and Hotel Indigo Albufeira, set to open in the first half of 2025, demonstrating the strength of IHG’s wider luxury and lifestyle portfolio.

Located in the heart of Quinta da Marinha, the hotels will be located in a peaceful and secluded corner of Cascais, immersed in the Sintra-Cascais Natural Park with majestic views of the Atlantic Ocean. Sunkissed sandy beaches and an eclectic array of shops and restaurants are within walking distance.

Onyria Marinha Cascais, Vignette Collection and Kimpton Quinta da Marinha Cascais will be located in close proximity to the capital city and less than a 30-minute drive from Lisbon International Airport.

The 111-key Onyria Marinha Cascais, Vignette Collection will feature two distinct restaurants, a stylish bar and 10 separate event spaces. Making the most of the of warm summers and mild winters, guests will benefit from an array of activities including outdoor pools, a Tennis & Padel Club, Horse-Riding Centre and hunting lodge venue. For those looking to relax and unwind, the hotel will also feature an indoor pool and a wellness spa, home to several massage rooms, sauna, hammam and sensory shower.

Kimpton Quinta da Marinha Cascais will feature 198 rooms, of which 10 will be suites, and a spa with three massage rooms, sauna, hammam and vichy showers. Guests will be able to choose from three restaurants and two bars, as well as an indoor and outdoor pool. The hotel will also feature a kids pool and a kids club, alongside an 18-hole golf course, a making it the ideal destination for families visiting Cascais. Catering to locals and business travellers, Kimpton Quinta da Marinha Cascais will have 12 conference rooms and a lake house venue, ideally for small or large gathering.

Onyria Marinha Cascais, Vignette Collection will join IHG’s first collection brand, which combines each property’s individual identity with the brand’s promise of ‘A Means For Good’ and Memorable Rituals. Launched in 2021, offers a compelling way for owners of one-of-a-kind hotels to benefit from IHG’s powerful enterprise offering and global scale. Over a period of three years alone, the brand has surpassed the halfway point in its decade-long target to attract 100 hotels by 2030.

Kimpton pioneered the concept of unique, distinctive, design-forward hotels in the United States. Founded in 1981 by visionary hotelier Bill Kimpton, the brand is inspired by his travels to Europe where Kimpton saw an opportunity for a hotel experience that was more than a place to stay, but rather a place to experience, feel a sense of belonging and explore. Kimpton Quinta da Marinha Cascais adds to IHG’s growing pipeline of eight Kimpton properties in Europe, including Kimpton Lisbon and Kimpton Sicily which were both signed last year.
