Canopy by Hilton, Hilton’s lifestyle brand that takes inspiration from local neighborhoods, is now welcoming guests from the Middle East at the brand’s first hotel in Spain – Canopy by Hilton Madrid Castellana.
The property, owned by Hotel Investment Partners (HIP), is located in Plaza Carlos Trías Bertrán 4, the financial district of the city, a few minutes away from some of Madrid’s popular tourist attractions, including the Real Madrid Santiago Bernabéu football stadium, the tree-lined Paseo de la Castellana and the Gran Via and Plaza Cibeles.
It is one of a trio of European openings under the Canopy by Hilton brand this year, following the summer openings of Paris and London hotels.
Hilton Senior Vice President-Continental Europe David Kelly said: “This stylish hotel offers travelers an authentic local experience. Our third opening in the Spanish capital in the last year and Spain’s first Canopy by Hilton, we’re excited to launch another option for travelers visiting from across the globe, including the more than 118 million members of our Hilton Honors guest loyalty program.”
The theme of ‘Red’ Madrid underpins an interior decoration project that embraces popular ‘Madrileño’ culture and avant-garde design. The project was masterminded by the studio of interior designer Jaime Beriestain.
The 314-room hotel, with 12 meeting rooms, has a neighborhood and city feel, creating a comfortable environment for business and leisure travelers, a statement from the group said.
Beriestain said: “We wanted to create an airy, open space, without barriers so that people could meet, see and be seen. For me, Madrid symbolizes the color red; it is a place where passion reigns and different, connecting cultures converge. That is why it is so important to offer the city a space that reflects this philosophy, a place to connect and meet.”
