Amadeus and Saudia, the national carrier of Saudi Arabia, have announced the extension of their distribution agreement. This renewed and expanded collaboration includes the global deployment of New Distribution Capability (NDC) content, marking a significant milestone in the transformation journey of the carrier.
Starting in quarter one of next year, Saudia will deploy its NDC-sourced content, enabling travel sellers to access a more extensive range of airline products and services.
This includes dynamic offers and hyper-personalisation capabilities, which will enhance the travel experience for passengers.
Thanks to Saudia already using Amadeus Altéa NDC, content integration into the Amadeus Travel Platform will be seamless, providing travel sellers worldwide with a fully synchronised, end-to-end process with better transparency and enhanced servicing.
Arved von Zur Muehlen, chief commercial officer at Saudia, commented: “This extension of our agreement with Amadeus is testament to our commitment to leveraging advanced technology to enhance our services for our guests and enhance their travel experience.
“It aligns perfectly with our contribution to the Saudi Vision 2030 goals and our ongoing transformation journey.”
The carrier has a long-term vision to become an integrated retailer, looking to refocus every aspect of its business to be truly traveler-centric across all distribution channels, and has last year contracted Amadeus Nevio to achieve its ambitions.
Maher Koubaa, executive vice president, Airlines, Middle East, Turkey, and Africa at Amadeus, added: “We are excited to continue our close collaboration and partnership with Saudia.
“This agreement underscores our dedication not only to drive NDC adoption at scale but demonstrates our unwavering commitment to the digital transformation of the travel industry, enabling modern retailing that benefits airlines, travel sellers and travelers.”
