Japan has announced that all foreign nationals/people who reside in Saudi Arabia, UAE, US and the UK can now obtain an eVisa for travel to the country. Single entry visa is for a stay of up to 90 days.
The eVisa Japan is an electronic travel authorisation that was launched in June 2019. Eligible travellers will be able to apply online for their Japan eVisa card and Passenger Locator Form.
Residents of Brazil, Cambodia, Canada, Mongolia, Singapore, South Africa and Taiwan can also obtain the eVisa.
If a visa fee is applicable (depending on nationality), applicants (or their representatives) need to visit the Japanese Embassy or Consulate General to pay the fee in cash. Online payment is not available at this time, said a Japanese Embassay in Saudi Arabia notice on its website.
When arriving in Japan, travellers will have to show their approved Tourist e-Visa Japan to the border authorities to enter the country.
The Japan e-Visa is aimed to make more fluid the immigration process and to amplify the border security checks.
