Singapore Airlines has unveiled its new cabin products for its B737 Max 8 fleet, with plans to deploy the aircraft on short- and medium-haul routes in the coming weeks.
The aircraft feature 154 seats in a two-class configuration, with 10 seats in business class and 144 in economy. The fully lie-flat business class seats have been designed by London-based Factorydesign and manufactured by Thompson Aero Seating, while the economy cabin includes slim-line seats by Collins Aerospace.
The aircraft also features Panasonic’s X-Series in-flight entertainment system, equipped with the carrier’s Krisworld content, and a new state-of-the-art 3D flight map with over 20 map views for various flight phases. Plus, the aircraft is fitted with Panasonic’s in-flight wifi service and mobile data connectivity services.

The seats are arranged in a forward-facing staggered configuration, with the first and third row in a 2-2 configuration, and the second row in a 1-1 configuration.
The seats measure up to 22 inches in width with a 44 inch pitch, and recline into a fully-flat 76-inch bed. They include a 16-inch touchscreen monitor and high-quality material and finishes.
The seats have been “designed to wrap smoothly in a cocoon-like formation around the customer”, providing more personal space and privacy. There is a divider between adjacent seats, providing a stowage area for personal items, as well as a bi-fold meal table.
Additionally, the seats have two USB charging ports and in-seat power supply, a reading light with adjustable brightness, mood lighting, and a pocket under the monitor.
Seats 12B and 12J are standalone and have additional tabletop and stowage spaces, in addition to a side stowage compartment with a mirror and LED light.

The slim-line seats feature a contoured backrest “for better support” and a four-way adjustable headrest with foldable wings. The seats are in a 3-3 configuration and measure up to 18 inches in width with a pitch of 30 inches and a recline of 5 inches.
They also include a 10-inch touchscreen monitor with an integrated USB charging port.
SIA has spent approximately S$230 million on the development, design and installation of the new products.
