Aman at Sea, Aman Group’s ocean travel brand, recently attended the very first Tourise in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. As part of Aman Group’s strategic collaboration with Cruise Saudi and the Public Investment Fund (PIF), Aman at Sea represents a transformative investment in the region’s fast-growing tourism sector. Over the course of three days, the travel summit saw the industry’s most influential leaders and decision makers come together to tackle challenges, unlock opportunities and begin shaping the future of global tourism.
Jonathan L. Wilson, President and CEO of Aman at Sea was delighted to have participated in a panel discussion exploring how yachts are redefining ultra-luxury travel by evolving into cultural and lifestyle hubs that offer seamless, sustainable and unrivalled hospitality experiences on the water. Speaking alongside other trailblazers in the sector, the conversation examined how its evolution could balance Aman’s pillars of privacy, exclusivity and local community engagement with long-term economic impact amid shifting travel trends.
Announced in December 2021, Aman at Sea is at the forefront of this new approach, with its inaugural vessel, Amangati – meaning “peaceful motion” in Sanskrit – set to launch in spring 2027. With private charter bookings already being accepted, Amangati will redefine ocean travel, embodying Aman’s signatures of privacy, tranquillity, minimalist design and unparalleled service. Designed in partnership with SINOT Yacht Architecture & Design and built by T. Mariotti S.p.A., the 183-metre (600 foot) yacht will host 94 guests across 47 expansive suites, each with a private terrace seamlessly connecting to the sea.
Complemented by world-class wellness in the Aman Spa, globally inspired dining at a collection of signature venues, and direct access to the water from its very own marina, the onboard guest experience will bring Aman’s inimitable lifestyle to the water for the very first time.
“As we approach the launch of Amangati, Tourise provided a vital platform for us to present our vision, allowing us to reveal its true potential alongside an audience of likeminded individuals,” said Jonathan L. Wilson, Aman at Sea President and CEO. “It was an honour to be invited to join this panel, represent Aman at Sea and share our expertise with a global audience in a destination whose exponential growth synergises greatly with our brand’s forward-facing philosophy.”
In fact, the summit’s setting against the backdrop of the Saudi Arabian Kingdom, one of the world’s fastest growing destinations, continued to highlight its emergence as a global tourism centre. Here, both Aman at Sea and Aman Group’s significant investments in collaboration with Cruise Saudi and the Public Investment Fund (PIF), underscore a shared commitment to the Kingdom and wider region. Aman’s partnership with the PIF not only includes Aman at Sea, but also three forthcoming properties in AlUla and Janu Diriyah. Janu, meaning ‘soul’ in Sanskrit, is Aman Group’s new sibling brand centered around connectedness, social wellness and contemporary design, with its first property having launched in Tokyo in 2024. These developments join a wider pipeline in the region, including Aman Dubai and Janu Dubai, further expanding Aman Group’s footprint across the Middle East in the near future.
