Tell us about your Eid holiday bookings this year. What trends have you seen in terms of last-minute bookings?

Eid holiday bookings have seen an exceptional surge this year, particularly from the UAE, reflecting a strong demand for travel. Noteworthy destinations include India, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia. Flight searches for Eid 2024 in the UAE have skyrocketed by an impressive 200 percent compared to last year, and bookings have increased significantly over the same period last year. This surge is primarily driven by the desire for family reunions and leisure travel.

Additionally, last-minute bookings have notably increased, especially for staycations within the UAE. Popular spots like Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah are experiencing high demand. Among UAE residents, the top destinations for Eid holidays include India, Thailand, Turkey, Egypt, Jordan, and Malaysia. These destinations are favored for their affordability, cultural appeal, and relaxation opportunities, making them ideal for spontaneous Eid travel plans.

To accommodate the surge in last-minute travel plans during the Eid holidays, we implemented several key measures. We expanded our offering to include more flights, hotels, and holiday packages, especially for popular destinations and UAE staycations. Our website and mobile app were optimized for a smoother and faster booking experience.

We also enhanced our customer support, providing swift and speedy assistance to manage increased inquiries and last-minute changes. In fact, EaseMyTrip rolled extensive offers during Eid-al-Adha for UAE travelers where one could save up to 600 AED in flight and hotel bookings and make the most of the season. Additionally, our targeted marketing campaigns highlighted available last-minute deals and promotions. These initiatives ensured that our customers could easily and affordably secure their last-minute travel plans during the busy Eid holiday period.

Popular destinations this Eid included countries like Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, and Georgia, and visa-free countries like Japan and Thailand.
